We work with MacEwan students in all programs, in all years of study, and at any stage of the writing process. Tutors can help you figure out how to proceed in planning and outlining your essay, they can answer quick questions that may arise while you’re writing, or they can review a draft of your paper and give you feedback on ways to revise and improve your writing and citation.
The Writing Centre is located in the Library in room 6-202. During the Covid pandemic, all services are offered remotely. The Writing Centre is closed on weekends and statutory holidays
Virtual Drop In
Do you just have a couple of quick questions and want to chat with a tutor briefly?
Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Late-night Thursdays: 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Our peer writing tutors are available to provide you with written feedback on your writing. You submit your paper online, and within 1-3 business days, one of our tutors will send you your feedback.
Your paper does not have to be finished: you can submit a few paragraphs or a draft in progress.
Tutors are typically able to comment on 2-3 areas of improvement in any given session, but students can resubmit their work up to two times for more feedback after making revisions.
If you need to talk through a particular writing challenge, like how to get started on a paper, you can schedule a 45-minute online meeting with one of our tutors. A link to the session will be sent to you via email.
