The Laptop Bursary is open to all MacEwan Students!
The Laptop bursary provides new laptops to students in financial need. No student should be held back by inadequate tech tools, nor should they have to weigh the value of reliable tech against other pressing financial needs. STUDENTS, if you need a laptop for school and are in financial need, apply for the laptop bursary. FACULTY, if your students could benefit from a new laptop for your class but don’t have the funds, please encourage them to apply for the laptop bursary, and share the link to this article.
Last year students in the pimâcihisowin Foundation Program or the Bachelor of Child and Youth Care (BCYC) program who demonstrated financial need, were awarded laptops and portable wifi sticks as part of a library laptop bursary pilot. Some of the students wrote to the Library to tell the Library what it meant to them. This is what one student wrote:
“I wanted to thank you so much for providing this opportunity for us. I am in need of a reliable laptop and it is difficult to buy one on a student loan budget while supporting 2 kiddos. I found out this evening that I am one of the recipients and I am ecstatic! I am graduating this spring as well and it will be such a big help with entering my new career. “ – Anonymous Student
This year the bursary has been expanded, with more laptops, available for students in any program to apply for, University wide. Apply by September 23rd. Instructions can be found on the Financial Aid website.
