MacEwan University Library has undergone recent renovations and will be updating our collection and facility numbers to reflect our current offerings. See the infographic below for a snapshot of how the MacEwan community has been using our new and existing services as we've closed and reopened our library spaces in response to COVID-19.

Our Collections

(Current to June 2019)

  • Over 1.4 million print and e-resources  

  • Annual acquisitions expenditures of $2.6 million  

  • Access to over 71,800 e-journals and 1.2 million e-books 

  • A print collection comprised of 220,000 books 

  • Video collection consisting of more than 68,000 DVD’s and streamed videos  

  • 146,000 CD’s and streamed audio files 

  • Access to 286 online databases 

  • Over 1,302 works by MacEwan faculty, staff and students in our institutional digital repository (RO@M

  • About 65 linear feet of archival records in the University Archives 

Our Facilities 

(Current to June 2019)

  • 1,035 study seats in the John L. Haar and Alberta College Libraries 

  • Over 190 student use Windows and Mac computer workstations  

  • 29 bookable student group study rooms with 213 seats 

  • 2 instructional computer labs with 40 seats each 

  • A flexible, multipurpose room that seats 32 

  • 3 service desks (Borrower Services, Reference and Research Services, and Technology Support) 

  • Printing area including four 3D printers
