Promotional Class Visits
We welcome requests from faculty who would like to have a Writing Centre staff member make a short in-class presentation about the Writing Centre. We introduce students to our services and resources, show them how to access our spaces in-person and online, and answer any questions which they might have about visiting the Writing Centre.

Our Pedagogical Approach
MacEwan Writing Centre implements an evidence-based approach to peer tutor training, educational programming, and learning resource design. Our pedagogy is derived from writing studies subfields such as Writing in the Disciplines, English for Academic Purposes, and Rhetorical Genre Theory, as well as from the robust field of writing centre scholarship. In practice, this means we guide students through authentic writing tasks in their disciplines, foster metacognitive awareness of rhetorical situations, and analyze genre conventions rather than imposing formulaic structures. Our professional staff are members of the Canadian Writing Centre Association and Association for Writing Across the Curriculum.
