Placing Items on Physical Reserve
Faculty can place high demand print books (including personal copies), DVDs, CDs, and other materials on Library Reserve by signing into Blackboard and following these steps. If you are having issues accessing the Reserves form via Blackboard, try https://ereserves.macewan.ca.
Due to their high demand, Reserve items have a much shorter loan period, ranging from 2 hours to 3 days typically determined by the faculty member. Students can borrow items placed on Library Reserve by showing their MacEwan ID card at the Library Services Desk.
If you want to place a personal copy on Library Reserve or have questions about Library Reserve, email: email@example.com.
Allow at least two weeks to ensure items are available for the first day of classes.
Library Textbook Collection
The Library purchases at least 1 copy of most required course texts (excluding novels, loose-leaf texts, workbooks and textbooks with a purchase cost under $35). Textbooks that fall outside these collection parameters will be considered for the collection by request, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Library cannot guarantee that students will have access to the textooks they need when they need them. The Library's textbooks collection was developed as a supplementary support collection and is not intended as a replacement for the purchase of required textbooks.
Consider assigning a lower-cost alternative. Visit the Textbook Alternatives Guide to learn more.
