Booking Videos for Class Viewing

To book videos for your class, please:

  • contact your campus library in advance to ensure the availability of the video on the required date(s)
  • book the necessary audio-visual equipment through the Technology Support Desk if the classroom is not suitably equipped
  • preview videos at any campus using available equipment in the main collection areas.

MacEwan Library has signed a license with the Advanced Education Media Acquisitions Centre (AEMAC) at Langara College. This license permits MacEwan faculty and students to show feature films in the classroom if the film is distributed by Criterion or Audio-Cine. Together, these distributors represent approximately 80% of the feature film market. This license covers feature films borrowed from any library, rented from a video store, or brought from a home collection (as long as the feature film is legally produced). 

It is the responsibility of the instructor or student to obtain the feature film and confirm that the title is covered by one of these distributors.  Films that are covered by the license will be listed at the respective web sites:
