A persistent link allows you to offer a stable or permanent URL to a specific journal article. The Library subscribes to several databases that allow direct linking from a password protected website to the full text of an article. You can use persistent links in online courses, reading lists, or bibliographies to provide reliable links back to citations.
1. Choose a database that features the
button.

2. Search for an article, and click ![]()

3. A pop-up window will appear, giving you several retrieval options. Scroll down to “Save this article citation and link” and click the
button.

4. The Capture Citation window will open. Copy and paste either the original URL or the shorter redirect link into your web page. It will provide a stable link to the article.

If the article doesn’t have the
option, take the citation information and enter it into the Citation Linker.
1. Go to the Get it! Citation Linker. Fill in as many fields as possible, and click on the
button.

2. A pop-up window will appear, giving you several retrieval options. Scroll down to “Save this article citation and link” and click the
