Creating Persistent Links to Database Articles

A persistent link allows you to offer a stable or permanent URL to a specific journal article. The Library subscribes to several databases that allow direct linking from a password protected website to the full text of an article. You can use persistent links in online courses, reading lists, or bibliographies to provide reliable links back to citations.

Create persistent links to database articles using “Get it!”

1. Choose a database that features the GetIt! Button button.

4. The Capture Citation window will open. Copy and paste either the original URL or the shorter redirect link into your web page. It will provide a stable link to the article.

If the article doesn’t have the GetIt! Button option, take the citation information and enter it into the Citation Linker.
