The MacEwan Card

You can get your MacEwan card at any MacEwan Library Borrower Services desk.

MacEwan uses photo identification to allow students, staff and faculty:

  • use of the MacEwan Library
  • access to photocopiers
  • remote access to MacEwan databases
  • admission to the university's Sport and Wellness Centre
  • borrowing privileges at participating libraries in the NEOS Consortium
  • MacEwan Cardholder Agreement

Especially for Students

Students' MacEwan Card also serves as a transit pass (U-Pass).

Students' ID cards expire on the last day of registered classes and are automatically reinstated upon registration in the same program for subsequent terms. Students registering in a different program must obtain a new MacEwan Card that denotes the new program information.

If the MacEwan Card is lost, it must be reported to the library as soon as possible. There is a $10.00 replacement fee for lost cards. Please see the SAM Centre for replacement of the UPass sticker.

Especially for Faculty

MacEwan Cards remain valid for the term of an instructional appointment, and may be obtained from the Borrower Services desk at City Centre Campus or from the service desk at any other campus library. New instructors are required to present their letter of employment confirmation or arrange to have their program chair send an email to the manager of Borrower Services <larivierem@macewan.ca> confirming the appointment. The new MacEwan Card will be processed and issued at the time of the visit.
