Who can use Distance Delivery Library Services? | Borrowing Materials | Using Online Resources | Other Services | Contact
The following groups of students are eligible for Distance Delivery Library Services:
Students taking MacEwan classes who are not physically based at the City Centre Campus, Centre for the Arts Campus, South Campus or Alberta College.
Students are taking classes from MacEwan who are based from their homes.
Students who are taking MacEwan courses delivered via the web.
You must have a valid Library / MacEwan Student ID card to borrow materials. Library materials are sent free of charge and a prepaid return postage label (for Canadian residents only) is included in the package. Home study/distance requests may take from 2 days to 2 weeks to arrive at their destination, depending on mail service.
Books are normally loaned for four weeks and should be mailed back at least 3 days prior to the due date to avoid overdue fines. Extended loan periods can be requested. Some videos may be borrowed for a limited time subject to availability and can be booked in advance. Photocopies of materials are yours to keep and do not have to be returned.
Materials should be repackaged in the container in which they were received and the prepaid mailing label should be affixed to the package prior to posting. Materials can also be returned in person to any of the four Grant MacEwan campuses.
Borrowers are assessed a fine of $1.00 per day for each item returned after the due date. Borrowing privileges are suspended when fines reach $50.00 or if any fines remain unpaid after 7 days.
We have a wide variety of online resources that can be accessed from off-campus with a valid MacEwan username and password, including full-text articles and e-books. When prompted, login using your MacEwan username and password, which is the same login that you would use for signing on to the Student Portal, to WebAdvisor or to a course in Blackboard.
